(D) Fish use their fins for movement and stability. $1$. The $Pectoral$ and $Pelvic$ fins are primarily used for steering, balancing, and changing direction. $2$. The $Caudal$ fin (tail fin) is primarily used for propulsion (forward movement). $3$. While the $Caudal$ fin provides the thrust, the $Pectoral$ and $Pelvic$ fins act as rudders to allow the fish to change direction suddenly. Therefore, all these fins contribute to the maneuverability of the fish.
