Behind the root tip

Vedclass · Answer

(C) The root is divided into different zones based on the activity of cells. The root tip is covered by the root cap. Behind the root cap is the meristematic zone, followed by the zone of elongation. The region of elongation is responsible for the growth of the root in length. Therefore, the maximum growth in the root occurs in the region just behind the root tip (the zone of elongation).
