(N/A) We can solve different problems of dynamics using Newton's three laws of motion.
Sometimes,a problem involves more than one body, and these bodies exert forces on each other.
Moreover, every body experiences a gravitational force. To solve such problems,we must define a 'system' whose motion is to be discussed, while the remaining parts and external agencies are considered the 'environment'.
To solve the problem, follow these steps:
$(1)$ Draw a schematic diagram showing the assembly of different objects, their connections, and supports.
$(2)$ Select the object as the system whose motion you want to analyze. If the system consists of multiple objects, ensure that the acceleration vector of all these objects is the same.
$(3)$ List all forces acting on the system by the environment. Do not include internal forces acting within the system.
$(4)$ Represent the system as a point and draw all external forces acting on it as vectors originating from that point. This is called a Free Body Diagram $(FBD)$. This does not mean the system is free from forces, but only that the forces acting $ON$ the system are shown.
$(5)$ If necessary, select another system and repeat the steps. Use Newton's third law: for example,if the force exerted by $B$ on $A$ is $\vec{F}$ in the $FBD$ of $A$,then the force exerted by $A$ on $B$ in the $FBD$ of $B$ is $-\vec{F}$.

$A$ ball rests upon a flat piece of paper on a table top. The paper is pulled horizontally but quickly towards the right as shown. Relative to its initial position with respect to the table, the ball:
$(A)$ Remains stationary if there is no friction between the paper and the ball.
$(B)$ Moves to the left and starts rolling backwards,$i.e.$,to the left if there is friction between the paper and the ball.
$(C)$ Moves forward,$i.e.$,in the direction in which the paper is pulled.
Which of the following statements is/are correct?

In the diagram,$BAC$ is a rigid fixed rough wire and angle $BAC$ is $60^o$. $P$ and $Q$ are two identical rings of mass $m$ connected by a light elastic string of natural length $2a$ and elastic constant $k = \frac{mg}{a}$. If $P$ and $Q$ are in equilibrium when $PA = AQ = 3a$,then the least coefficient of friction between the ring and the wire is $\mu$. Find the value of $\mu + \sqrt{3}$.

$A$ boy of mass $4 \, kg$ is standing on a piece of wood having mass $5 \, kg$. If the coefficient of friction between the wood and the floor is $0.5$,the maximum force that the boy can exert on the rope so that the piece of wood does not move from its place is ...... $N$. Imagine the situation in which the given arrangement is placed inside a trolley that can move only in the horizontal direction,as shown in the figure. If the trolley is accelerated horizontally along the positive $x$-axis with $a_0$,and if $a_{min}$ and $a_{max}$ are the minimum and maximum values of $a_0$ for which the blocks remain stationary with respect to the surface, then identify the correct statements.

$A$ horizontal force $F = mg/3$ is applied on the upper surface of a uniform cube of mass $m$ and side $a$,which is resting on a rough horizontal surface having $\mu_S = 1/2$. The distance between the lines of action of $mg$ and the normal reaction $N$ is:
