Vedclass · Answer

(A) The formula provided is for the step-deviation method to calculate the mean of grouped data.In this method, the deviation $d_{i}$ is defined as $d_{i} = x_{i} - A$,where $x_{i}$ is the class mark and $A$ is the assumed mean. The variable $u_{i}$ is defined as the ratio of the deviation to the class width $c$,which is given by $u_{i} = \frac{x_{i} - A}{c}$.Therefore, the correct expression for $u_{i}$ is $\frac{x_{i} - A}{c}$.
